This listing is for a gorgeous Sterling Silver large round cake plate or dessert tray made by the Roger Williams Silver Company, c. 1910.
The plate has a solid silver center surrounded with a wide 3 1/4" reticulated border decorated with embossed cupids sitting atop urns with standing stylized long tailed birds and swirling foliage.  The elaborate design has intricate pierced details and the quality is remarkable. There is a fancy 3-letter monogram "F P B" on center front. Silver is marked with the trademark stamp of the Roger Williams Silver Company and "Sterling, 6375" and The Cowell & Hubbard Co. for retailers. The Cowell & Hubbard Co. were Cleveland's premier jewelry store founded in 1861.3/4
Measures 3/4" high and 11" in diameter. Weighs 525 grams.
The reticulated silver decorative border is in excellent condition with no noted flaws, however, the solid silver center has numerous minor scratches from normal wear.
