Gorgeous Appalachian-style Melon shape Gathering Basket with the split Buttocks Egg Gathering Basket shape.
Measures 12" wide, 12" long, and 14" tall.
Made of mixed materials - looks like split oak, wicker or grapevine, and some sort of palm or husk fiber.
Handle has a decorative overlapping design in darker brown in the light split oak.
There is a circle of wicker to form the base so the basket stands up.
In very good pre-owned condition. Minimal wear to the basket materials and no broken spines. See photos for details.
