    Description

1834 Classic Liberty gold Half Eagle (Plain 4), authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC at XF Details, for cleaning.
This Classic Liberty head half eagle, of the series of 1834-1839, is the oldest gold coin offered in the David MA Coins shop; as such, it qualifies to be termed "Early American gold" and likely the only affordable series for most collectors.  The 1834 half eagle, first year in the series, had a nice robust 600,000+ mintage, as the resumption of gold coinage was new, and with these new, reduced weight specifications, the U.S. Government had high hopes of having this coin circulate.  They were right, though you might be able to buy a good horse with just one and get change back!
This NCS-conserved and high-XF class coin with just superficial cleaning apparently done, as it is not readily visible, is a nice specimen that is not far from the AU range, but looks attractive and collectible in its condition.  Not many eBay businesses are selling these; but we do, and if you acquire this one, well, we'll just have to resume searching for another one - but you'll have yours!
